Manassas Park Residents Encouraged to Take Advantage of OmniRide Connect On-Demand Transportation Service
Manassas Park, VA – OmniRide is making it easier to get around the City of Manassas Park, with an on-demand transportation service that provides a flexible alternative to traditional fixed-route bus service.
OmniRide Connect has replaced the former OmniRide Local Manassas Park Route 68, allowing passengers to request rides within the designated service area rather than relying on a traditional bus route and schedule.
The service uses passenger vans instead of full-sized buses. Riders can request transportation to and from designated pickup and drop-off locations within the service area.
“Reliable and accessible transportation is an important part of connecting our residents with everyday tasks,” says Assistant City Manager Dustin Sternbeck. “Everyone in Manassas Park should know the available options, particularly anyone who previously relied on the Route 68 service, and OmniRide Connect provides our community with a flexible, currently fare-free microtransit service.”
How OmniRide Connect Works
Unlike a traditional bus that follows a fixed route and schedule, OmniRide Connect allows passengers to request rides when they need them.
Riders can book a trip in three ways:
Mobile App: Download the free OmniRide Mobility app through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Online: Visit https://book.omniride.rideco.com to request a ride through the online booking portal.
By Phone: Call OmniRide Customer Service at 703-730-6664 to schedule a ride with assistance from a Transportation Support Associate.
Trips can be requested for same-day travel but cannot be reserved days in advance.
Once a trip is requested, riders receive pickup instructions and are transported by van between designated locations within the service area.
Currently Fare-Free
OmniRide Connect is currently offered at no cost to passengers as part of OmniRide's fare-free local transit services.
When OmniRide resumes fare collection on local routes, the anticipated OmniRide Connect fare is $2 per passenger, with payment available through the mobile app.
