Free Community Food Distribution Happening in Manassas Park
Manassas Park, VA – The City of Manassas Park is partnering with Manassas Park City Schools and the Capital Area Food Bank to provide residents and families with greater access to fresh, nutritious food through recurring free food distributions in the community.
The next Mobile Food Market is happening today, Thursday, Aug. 27, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the MAP Clinic, Manassas Park Community Center, located at 99 Tremont Street. The distribution will take place in the rear parking lot adjacent to the Clinic.
The Capital Area Food Bank brings fresh produce and other foods directly into communities across the DMV region. In Manassas Park, the Mobile Market is free and open to anyone who needs food assistance. No identification is required and participants should bring their own reusable bags.
“Access to healthy food is a basic need, and partnerships like this allow us to connect resources directly with the people who can benefit from them,” say Randi Knights, Director of Social Services. “We want residents to know these distributions are available at no cost and without unnecessary barriers. Whether someone needs the assistance today or at some point in the future, we encourage them to take advantage of this community resource.”
The Mobile Food Market returns to the Manassas Park Community Center on the fourth Thursday of each month from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Upcoming dates include:
